San Diego office moves – in the city and on the green
Troutman Sanders’ San Diego office’s move from downtown San Diego to Carmel Valley, a master-planned community northwest of the city, garnered mentions in two different Daily Transcript articles – one appearing June 14 and the other June 21.
The June 14 article discussed a survey the firm commissioned that asked 250 anonymous business owners why business tenants were leaving downtown San Diego and migrating to the suburbs. “It is too pricey to rent downtown,” said one executive. San Diego managing partner Mike Whitton countered this claim by stating it was a false assumption. “Affordability wasn’t really the determining factor behind our move,” he said. “Instead, as more and more of our clients moved to North County, we realized we needed to be closer to them. From a business perspective, we didn’t have any other choice.”
Whitton also was mentioned in June 28 National Law Journal and Daily Transcript articles for being named as one of the golf industry’s best attorneys by Golf Inc. in its June 2011 magazine issue.
Golf Inc. surveyed golf course owners and operators for top-recommended golf industry lawyers in May 2011. From an initial list of more than 40 firms, Golf Inc. performed a peer survey and its own research to identify the 10 most experienced and respected attorneys in the industry.
