Prior to his retirement, Tom Powell concentrated his practice in mergers, acquisitions and corporate. He advised numerous financial institutions in the Southeast concerning bank regulatory matters. His experience included formation of bank holding companies, forming new banks, service as an organizer and a director of a de novo bank which was successfully sold, and advising on the use of securities to provide capital for financial institutions and to finance acquisitions. Tom served for many years as counsel in connection with securities underwriting and represents public companies and other clients involved in mergers and acquisitions and has represented directors and officers of troubled banks.
