Condominium Apportionment Alert
As part of an ongoing process, on October 1, 2010, the New York City Department of Finance will implement a new on-line procedure for obtaining condominium tax lot numbers. The new procedure will require applicants to establish an account and to complete the information necessary to generate the condominium apportionment application (commonly known as form RP 602-C) and an invoice for the tax lot fee (currently $73 per tax lot). Payment of the tax lot fee and processing of form PW-1 with the Department of Buildings will still be required to occur in person.
An on-line condominium worksheet must be submitted electronically before a final condominium package (including condominium floor plans) may be submitted to the Department of Finance for review. Once approved, the condominium declaration and condominium floor plans must be recorded in the City’s ACRIS system.
Access to the on-line application and combined worksheet will be available at the Department of Finance website.
Troutman Sanders participated in the testing of and provided comments to the Department of Finance regarding the new procedure.
