Richmond partner Bryan Haynes authored the chapter “Understanding the Tobacco Control Act and FDA Investigative Process” in the 2014 edition of Inside the Minds: Recent Developments in Food and Drug Law – Leading Lawyers on Dealing with Increased Enforcement, Keeping Up-to-Date with FDA Requirements, and Developing Compliance Practices. Bryan’s chapter discusses the requirements imposed on tobacco companies by the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, which gave the Food & Drug Administration authority over tobacco products, including recent Tobacco Control Act-related cases, FDA investigations and enforcement proceedings.
