On November 23 rd, Law360 published an article entitled “Not Just Earnouts: Creative Ways for Private Equity Sponsors to Bridge Valuation Gaps” written by Troutman Sanders partners John McDonald, Michael Weinsier and Paul Steffens, which previously appeared in the most recent edition of the firm’s Private Equity Quarterly. The article discussed the issue of private equity sponsors confronting gaps between the valuations at which they are willing to acquire companies and sellers’ valuation expectations, the sources of those gaps, and some ways to address them.
