Regulatory Compliance and Government Litigation practice group leader quoted in recent articles
Regulatory Compliance and Government litigation practice group leader and Richmond partner Ashley Taylor garnered two press mentions last month in regards to St. Paul’s College, a private school affiliated with the Episcopal Church in Lawrenceville, Virginia, losing its accreditation in June.
In an August 27 The Progress article about the college planning legal action in federal court in light of SACS’ decision not to reaccredit the school, Taylor stated: “SACS actions are subject to review by a United States District Court Judge and we intend to ask a judge to enter a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to maintain the accreditation of Saint Paul’s College until the court has had the opportunity to fully review SACS’ actions in this case.”
In an August 31 follow-up article by the same publication about a federal judge issuing a preliminary injunction that reinstates the college’s accreditation, Taylor stated: “Our pleadings in this case explain how SACS failed to consider certain critical information. With the injunction in place, Saint Paul's is now able to take the steps necessary for the completion of this important process.”
