Reinventing The Federal Trade Commission
Troutman Sanders’ David Anthony, Timothy Butler and Julie Hoffmeister coauthored a byline in Law360 that explores recently announced “internal process reforms” at the Federal Trade Commission’s ("FTC") Bureau of Consumer Protection. The trio describes the reforms to the Bureau’s civil investigate demand ("CID") practice as “worthwhile but not fundamental.” They also note that the reforms are a signal that recently named Chairman Maureen Ohlhausen intends to put her own stamp on the FTC.
