Richmond partner quoted in Law360 on CFPB muscle and recent actions
Richmond partner David Anthony was quoted in an October 10 article – " CFPB Exams Likely to Improve Without Enforcement Muscle" – that appeared on Law360. The article discusses the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s October announcement that it would cease its controversial practice of having enforcement attorneys attend regular company examinations, which, according to the article, “should ease tensions and allow the bureau’s examiners to more effectively supervise the industry.”
He also was mentioned in another Law360 article on October 16 - “ CFPB Looking to Tighten Rules for Student Loan Servicers.” “[The CFPB’s annual report on the private student loan market] is a shot across the bow that provides a preview for the industry of future supervisory and enforcement priorities for the [bureau], and it would behoove the industry to take heed and begin to take steps to develop responsive compliance policies,” David said.
