Southern Co. Joins Fight Against EPA Startup-Shutdown Rule
Atlanta partners Randy Brogdon, Margaret Campbell, Mack McGuffey and associate Maria Souder were mentioned in an August 8 Law360 article about six units of Southern Co. joining a list of entities that are challenging the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s new rule that requires 36 states to revise unlawful emissions exemptions for industrial facilities related to startup, shutdown and malfunction events. These six units – along with other plaintiffs in Southern Company Services Inc., et al. v EPA, et al. – are asking the D.C. Circuit to review the new EPA rule and its implications.
Randy is noted as representing Southern Power, while the other lawyers are noted for representing Georgia Power in the case.
