The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act: An Overview of the Law and Coverage-Related Issues
Washington partner Stacey McGraw and Richmond associate Stacey Rufe had their article – “The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act: An Overview of the Law and Coverage-Related Issues” – published March 21 in the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation’s Insurance Coverage Litigation.
The article is an overview of the 1977-enacted Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and issues related to its enforcement. “FCPA investigations and enforcement actions are on the rise and, along with parallel shareholder litigation, may lead to increased exposure for both insureds and insurers,” said the two lawyers. “Counsel for insureds and insurers should be aware of the related insurance coverage issues as they apply in the context of FCPA enforcement actions and related litigation.”
