Troutman Sanders Partner Receives Pro Bono Service Award
Washington – Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce that Washington partner Sharie A. Brown and the firm received a Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award from the Minority Media & Telecom Council (MMTC) for their contributions to the communications industries. The award was presented at the 12th Annual Access to Capital and Telecom Policy Conference, which was held at the Embassy Suites Convention Center Hotel in Washington, D.C., at the end of July.
Specifically, Brown was singled out for providing pro bono assistance to MMTC in critical managerial and operations matters, including employment law, nonprofit compliance, financial and operational controls, nonprofit best practices and board governance matters. She, along with Ashley Z. Hager, a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office, consulted with MMTC, providing support to the group on specialized areas of the law.
“I would like to extend a special thank-you to my colleague Ashley Hager for her pro bono work in the area of employment law with MMTC matters,” Brown said. “She and I are both honored to have been recognized for our pro bono efforts. We are both equally honored to have worked for an organization that is striving to provide an equal playing field for minorities in the media and telecommunications sectors.”
