Troutman Sanders Partner Selected as One of 'Georgia's 40 Under 40' and Wins Technology Advocate of the Year Award
ATLANTA, Ga. – Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce that partner Alison A. Grounds has been named to the Fulton County Daily Report's 2013 "On the Rise" list for top lawyers in Georgia under the age of 40. In addition, she has received the 2013 International Legal Technology Association’s (ILTA) Technology Advocate of the Year award.
Grounds is Managing Director of Troutman Sanders eMerge, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the firm dedicated to consulting, technology services and project management of electronically stored information (ESI) in litigation and internal/governmental investigations.
The editors of the Daily Report selected the forty “On the Rise” lawyers, “not only because of where they've been, but also because of where we think they're headed.” In choosing Grounds, the Daily Report indicated that “she's widely considered ahead of the pack here in e-discovery.” Since its launch in June 2012, eMerge has served 280 firm clients in more than 300 matters. Additionally, the paper noted that Grounds “played a key role in drafting House Bill 643, which would amend Georgia’s Civil Practice Act to recognize electronic discovery.” The bill will be taken up in the 2014 General Assembly.
In addition, at the International Legal Technology Association’s (ILTA) annual conference, Grounds won the organization’s Technology Advocate of the Year award. The award recognizes outstanding technology advocacy at a law firm by an individual who is not in a traditional IT role.
Grounds is widely published and speaks on a variety of E-Discovery issues. She earned her J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina and a B.A., summa cum laude, from Loyola University.
