Troutman Sanders sponsored the United Way's Eighth Annual Women’s Leadership Dinner and Networking Reception, which was held in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on September 17. The event, presented by NextEra Energy Resources, LLC and Florida Power & Light Company, was held to raise money for the United Way of Palm Beach County in order to assist the nonprofit organization with its mission to “measurably improve the lives of individuals and families in Palm Beach County by uniting the resources of donors, volunteers, agencies and the community.”
The event’s special guest was Deborah Johnson, who won the prestigious Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction for her novel The Secret of Magic. The first African-American woman to win this prize, Johnson was born in Missouri, grew up in Nebraska and later lived in California and Rome, Italy, where she worked at Vatican Radio. She also is the author of The Air Between Us, which won the Mississippi Library Association Award for fiction.
Troutman Sanders partners Craig Kline and John Leonti attended the event on behalf of the firm. Kline and Leonti concentrate their practice in the renewable energy space.
