Troutman Sanders Strategies Adds Former North Carolina Environment and Natural Resources Official
RALEIGH – February 10 - Troutman Sanders Strategies, the policy arm of the law firm Troutman Sanders LLP, announced today that J. Carr McLamb Jr. has joined the group as a manager in its Raleigh, N.C. office. McLamb will focus his practice representing clients with an array of business clients, including financial, insurance, environmental and energy companies.
Prior to joining Troutman Sanders Strategies, McLamb served in North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory’s Administration as the deputy director of legislative affairs and assistant general counsel at the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). At DENR, he worked with members of the North Carolina General Assembly on a broad range of environmental, regulatory, and energy issues and advised North Carolina State Secretary John Skvarla and Secretary Don van der Vaart on environmental policy, legal and regulatory matters. Prior to his time at DENR, McLamb practiced law in Raleigh with a focus on commercial litigation, creditor’s rights, landlord-tenant and community association matters. McLamb succeeds Andy Munn, who was recently named deputy chief of staff for new North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore.
“Carr's expertise in the environmental arena complements that of the firm extremely well,” said Bill Scoggin, office managing partner of the firm’s Raleigh office and a principal with Troutman Sanders Strategies. “We are lucky to have him on board."
McLamb received his B.S. in Business Management from North Carolina State University, graduating summa cum laude and as a university valedictorian. He received his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law.
