Troutman Sanders' represents ARRIS Group Inc.
Troutman Sanders’ involvement as legal counsel to ARRIS Group, Inc. in its plans to acquire BigBand Networks in an all-cash acquisition garnered press in an October 11 Atlanta Business Chronicle article and an October 11 San Francisco Business Times article.
ARRIS, based in Suwannee, Ga., just outside of Atlanta, plans to buy BigBand, located in Redwood City, Calif., for about $172 million. According to ARRIS, the acquisition furthers its capabilities in the processing, management and distribution of digital video content and gives it innovative technologies and significant research and development investments. BigBand makes digital video networking technology for broadband service providers.
Troutman Sanders’ legal team was lead by Atlanta partner Brink Dickerson and included Atlanta partners Jeff Banish, Patrick Macken and Jim Schutz, New York partner Robert Friedman, and Atlanta associates Juliet Sy and Brendan Thomas.
