Amanda Lyn Genovese is a litigation associate in Troutman’s Financial Services Litigation practice. Amanda serves as lead counsel on behalf of major national insurance companies and financial institutions, as well as other large consumer-facing companies, in cases involving the Employee Retirement Income Security Act ("ERISA"), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA"), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"), Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA"), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act ("RESPA"), Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA"), and Truth in Lending Act ("TILA"). Amanda also has experience litigating cases encompassing a spectrum of business relationships and disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, professional liability, bankruptcy matters, and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act ("RICO").

Amanda’s pragmatic approach allows her to effectively communicate with clients and prepare for all aspects of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, mediation, and trial. Due to Amanda’s extensive litigation experience, including many cases in both federal and state courts, Amanda is often asked to serve as local counsel for cases pending in New York and New Jersey.

Prior to joining Troutman, Amanda was selected to serve as a fellow at the Office of the Attorney General for the State of New Jersey, where she worked on projects involving eminent domain, billing disputes for local public utility companies, and due process rights of energy generators. In addition, Amanda has volunteered at the Brooklyn Bar Volunteer Lawyers Project, lobbied for reform of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and helped introduce legislation through a public interest organization.

Amanda provides ongoing analysis and commentary on legal and business developments in the consumer financial services industry through the Consumer Financial Services Law Monitor blog at cfslawmonitor.com.
