Eudeen Chang is a commercial litigator experienced in all phases of litigation, from pre-lawsuit strategizing through trial, post-judgment collection and appeal. Additionally, Eudeen serves as general counsel for Chinese businesses and investors with respect to their transactional and litigation needs in the United States. He uses his strong litigation background, as well as his understanding of Chinese culture and fluency in Mandarin, to help Chinese clients avoid pitfalls when investing in the United States.

In addition to litigating disputes involving real estate and hospitality, contracts, employment and construction, Eudeen counsels clients on real estate transactions, joint ventures, corporate structure, formation and governance.

Representative Matters

  • Representation of Chinese investors in the acquisition and development of an $800,000,000 mixed use development project in downtown Los Angeles, a $350,000,000 mixed use development project in Garden Grove, California, and the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel.
  • Representation of Chinese investors in the acquisition of the Sheraton LAX Gateway Hotel, the Luxe City Center Hotel in Los Angeles, the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Harbor Hotel, the Hyatt Regency Orange County, the Doubletree by Hilton Pomona, the La Quinta Inn & Suites Pomona, the Hotel Ménage in Anaheim California (now known as Four Points by Sheraton Anaheim), the Wingate by Wyndham Manhattan Midtown, the Hampton Inn Newark-Airport, the Wyndham Garden Hotel Newark Airport, and the Holiday Inn Clark, New Jersey.
  • Representation of investors in various residential, agricultural, hotel, EB-5, and mixed use development projects, and in joint ventures with U.S. companies.
  • Representation of hotel owner in dispute with lessor involving breach of lease requirement to maintain hotel to minimum standards, resulting in favorable arbitration award.
  • Defense of private equity company in an International Chamber of Commerce arbitration proceeding arising from claims of breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty.
  • Prosecution of misappropriation of trade secret and interference action on behalf of international human resources consulting firm against corporate raider.
  • Defense of one of the largest class actions in California for ADA claims on behalf of state agency.
  • First chaired trial in indemnity action whereby client obtained all relief requested.
