WASHINGTON, D.C. – Troutman Sanders LLP announced today that Charles Sensiba has joined the firm’s Energy practice as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office. He comes to the firm from Van Ness Feldman LLP.

With nearly two decades of focused experience in the hydropower sector, Sensiba is a recognized authority in the water power industry and regularly handles complex licensing, natural resources and environmental issues related to the regulation of hydropower development. He is also a thought leader on federal environmental and other regulatory policies affecting the hydropower industry. His clients include public utility districts, state governmental entities, investor-owned utilities, water districts, independent power producers and developers.

“Chuck is highly skilled in all aspects of the regulation of hydropower facilities including licensing and relicensing, and his practice aligns directly with the needs of our clients,” said Amie Colby, chair of the firm’s Energy and Regulatory Department.

“We welcome Chuck to our D.C. office and look forward to partnering with him to serve our clients,” said Todd Coles, managing partner of the firm’s D.C. office. “In recent years, our D.C. office has grown to more than 50 attorneys, all focused on delivering the very best in client care.”

Troutman Sanders’ energy practice groups have counseled utilities and other energy clients about changing regulatory challenges since the 1920s. The team handles matters across the energy-related sector including renewable energy, nuclear, oil and natural gas, energy construction, electricity and energy storage.

“Troutman Sanders has a remarkable reputation across the energy sector, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues on behalf of our clients,” Sensiba said.
