Leading Investment Management Partner Genna Garver Joins Troutman Sanders’ Corporate Practice in New York
NEW YORK – Genna Garver, a top securities regulatory attorney known for her ability to guide clients through the complex maze of investment regulation, has joined the Corporate practice of Troutman Sanders LLP in New York. Garver comes to the firm from Dorsey & Whitney LLP, where she chaired the firm’s Investment Management practice. She follows Steven Khadavi who joined the firm last month.
Garver advises investment management clients in connection with federal and state securities laws, private fund formation and securities offerings. She has extensive experience helping investment advisers, including wealth advisers, family offices, hedge funds and private equity funds, to implement proven investment strategies, in addition to representing financial institutions in transactional and regulatory matters.
“Genna is a leading investment management attorney with complementary skillsets to our practice,” said Mason Bayler, chair of the firm’s corporate department. “Clients turn to Genna for their private fund formation and regulatory needs because of her expertise, track record and the high level of personal attention she gives every matter. She is a strong addition to our corporate team and will help expand our investment management capabilities.”
Garver is a frequent presenter and author, who is often called upon to speak at key industry events. She is highly involved in women’s and diversity initiatives, serving in leadership roles at several notable organizations, including the Investment Advisers Association, 100 Women in Finance, and the National Society of Compliance Professionals, among others.
“We are excited to welcome Genna to our growing New York office,” said Craig Kline, managing partner of Troutman Sanders’ New York office, which has added eight lateral partners in the last 14 months, including Mark Mandel, a former New York chief of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Broker-Dealer Enforcement, who joined the firm in March. “Genna is a highly sought-after investment strategist, advising clients on formation and ongoing regulatory matters for both domestic and offshore fund managers. Her addition demonstrates the firm’s commitment to expanding our investment management practice, and we look forward to working with her.”
