Troutman Sanders Advises Sasada International in Acquisition of $11.3M Willows Run Golf Complex
SAN DIEGO – Troutman Sanders LLP continues its long history of representing clients in the golf and resort industry. On Friday, March 8, 2019, a team led by San Diego Managing Partner Mike Whitton represented Sasada International, Inc. in acquiring Willows Run Golf Complex for $11.3 million from Access Golf LLC, an affiliate of Vulcan Inc, a Paul G. Allen company.
The Redmond, Washington-based facility, located across the street from a planned Facebook research hub, features two eighteen-hole, links-style courses, a driving range, practice putting green and bunker, a family nine-hole course, and a themed putting course. The deal represents the third major golf course closing handled by Troutman Sanders in recent months.
“Our team has a unique expertise in complex golf course and resort purchase and sales, and we were honored to represent Sasada International in this significant transaction and its entry into the industry,” Whitton said.
The Troutman Sanders team advising Sasada International also included Lile Benaicha and Jacob Bedingfield. The buyer-side brokers included Jeff Woolson, Managing Director, of Golf & Resorts, CBRE; and Morgan Abbot, Senior Underwriter, CBRE, assisted by Tom Moran. The seller, Access Golf, was represented by attorneys Bryan Helfer and Tom Farrow of Foster Pepper, and brokers Ken Arimitsu, SVP, Madison Marquette and Tim Smith, Preview Properties.
