Matthew Brooks (Atlanta/Finance and Restructuring) provides clients with efficient and practical advice to resolve the challenging issues that often arise in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters. His multidisciplinary practice often combines restructuring guidance with high-stakes litigation or transactional components. Brooks represents public and private companies, financial institutions, nonprofits, special servicers, boards of directors, creditors, and trustees, in all aspects of corporate restructurings, distressed acquisitions and dispositions, and complex commercial litigation.
Christopher “Rusty” Close (Atlanta/Intellectual Property) has broad experience developing IP strategies, including preparing and prosecuting a wide range of patent applications, and drafting and negotiating IP agreements. Focusing primarily on technology businesses, manufacturers, and universities and higher education institutions, Close has extensive experience in computer software and computer-implemented technologies as well as manufactured goods.
Craig Crockett (San Francisco/Intellectual Property) advises clients on commercial matters, primarily regarding intellectual property. Crockett is adept at preparing and planning cases for trial in both federal and state courts, and handles matters through all stages, including pre-litigation investigations, trial and appeal, as well as arbitrations and motion proceedings including preliminary injunctions. His technical training enables Crockett to build an understanding of his clients’ businesses and to develop solutions.
Nicholas David (New York/Construction) advises clients on the wide variety of issues arising from the ownership and development of real property, with a primary focus on drafting and negotiating the full range of development, design and construction related agreements. David also has extensive experience litigating complex construction, real estate and general commercial disputes.
Heather Ducat (Atlanta/Corporate) provides valuable counsel to public company corporate clients as they raise capital through debt and equity offerings, navigate complicated merger and acquisition transactions, communicate with shareholders and regulatory agencies, and approach corporate governance issues within their organizations. Ducat has represented public companies and underwriters in securities offerings, including equity and secured and unsecured debt, exceeding $1 billion.
Jon Hubbard (Richmond/Consumer Financial Services) uses his substantial in-house and private practice experience to advise clients in the financial services and insurance industries. Hubbard focuses his practice on representing clients in individual lawsuits and class actions, arbitrations, contract disputes, state and federal consumer litigation, data breach claims, pre-litigation analysis, and regulatory compliance. He also defends companies and claim administrators in actions for ERISA benefits.
Gary Knopf (Atlanta/Real Estate) represents clients in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, financing, disposition and development of office, retail, industrial and mixed-use properties. Knopf’s involvement with a wide range of transactions for public and private companies provides him with the necessary market knowledge to offer clients practical guidance through complex transactions. Knopf also has an extensive retail and office leasing practice representing both landlords and tenants.
Gregory Kuehnle (Richmond/Multifamily Housing Finance) counsels mortgage banking clients in the origination, sale and servicing of loan transactions sold to secondary market investors. With significant experience with the full range of agency loan products, Kuehnle has represented lenders of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as other financial institutions and securitization program participants.
Monique Lashbrook (San Diego/Real Estate) has extensive experience in connection with real estate acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, commercial mortgage financing, commercial leasing for industrial and retail spaces, and property management matters. Lashbrook provides guidance on corporate structures and all related entity and organizational documents related to real estate investments and ownership, and in connection with operational matters related to the ownership of multifamily housing, office buildings and hotels.
Samrah Mahmoud (Orange County/Insurance and Reinsurance) has successfully defended clients in both state and federal court, including at trial and on appeal. Nicole Sullivan (New York/Intellectual Property) counsels clients regarding worldwide portfolio management and strategic development. Sullivan’s pharmacology and industry background allows her to understand and assist clients with complex legal and scientific issues.
