Michael Litman is an attorney in the firm’s Financial Services Litigation practice, whose practice includes the representation of clients in consumer law, business disputes, and commercial litigation. Specifically, Michael focuses on defending against claims in West Virginia arising under the West Virginia Consumer Credit Protection Act (“WVCCPA”) the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (“FDCPA”), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”), and the Truth in Lending Act (“TILA”).
Michael is a graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law, where he was a student attorney in the WVU College of Law Legal Clinic and an Associate Editor for the West Virginia Law Review. Prior to joining Troutman Sanders, he was an associate attorney at Jones & Associates, in Charleston, West Virginia, representing corporate and business clients in a wide range of transactional and litigation matters including mergers & acquisitions, corporate dissolution, shareholder derivative actions, corporate contracts, mineral estate disputes, and environmental law.
