SAN DIEGO – Troutman Sanders LLP announced today that Randal Lejuwaan has joined the firm’s Real Estate practice as a partner in the San Diego office. He comes to the firm from Dentons, along with partner Jim Manley, counsel Jill Kuhn and senior consultant Joe Mohorovic, who joined the firm’s Business Litigation practice.

Lejuwaan has significant experience in real property acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and development. He has represented clients spanning diverse industries, including a “big box” retailer’s expansion of new stores and sale of excess property throughout the United States; office, industrial and shopping center leases on behalf of owners; corporate headquarter office leasing on behalf of tenants; purchase and sale transaction on behalf of publicly traded REITs and privately held companies; development agreements and declarations, covenants, operation and reciprocal easement agreements in connection with the development of shopping centers, and build-to-suit transactions.

“Randal is experienced in all aspects of real estate transactions, from development to acquisition and commercial leasing,” said Ashley Story, chair of the firm’s Real Estate and Finance Department. “He is a strong addition to the partnership.”

Over the past three years, Troutman Sanders has added nearly 20 lateral partners on the West Coast and now has nearly 100 lawyers practicing in San Diego, San Francisco, Orange County and Portland.

“Our San Diego office continues to grow, following its strategic plan driven by client needs,” said Mike Whitton, managing partner of the firm’s San Diego office. “Randal helps expand our footprint in the region, specifically adding capacity for real estate-related work.”

Troutman Sanders’ Real Estate practice provides negotiation and advocacy for both domestic and international clients in all areas of real estate transactions, including the development, acquisition, sale, financing, leasing, management and operation of individual properties and large real estate portfolios. The firm handles commercial and industrial real estate matters in a wide variety of industries and has particular depth in multifamily housing, retail, energy and hospitality.

“I’m thrilled to join Troutman Sanders. The firm’s stellar Real Estate practice and entrepreneurial culture are a perfect fit for me. I look forward to working with my new colleagues to bring more value to our clients,” Lejuwaan said.
