Roy Bell focused his practice on complex business civil litigation and trial work. He served as special outside counsel to the Oxbow Group, overseeing major issues, litigation and negotiations relating to their worldwide operations.
Roy served two tours in the Western Pacific during the Vietnam Conflict where he earned two Navy Commendations (with combat "V"), the Navy Achievement Medal (with combat "V"), the Vietnam Unit Medal of Gallantry, and six Vietnam Campaign Medals. He attended the California Western School of Law, where he graduated with honors in 1974 and was valedictorian. Roy served as lead articles editor for the California Western International Law Review and later served as an Associate Professor of Law at California Western. He has served for over 35 years as a trustee and then as Chairman of the Board, and holds the honorary title of Emeritus Chairman. In 2009, Roy was honored with a Doctorate of Law Honoris Causa from California Western School of Law in recognition of his contributions to the school and the field of law.
