Carol W. Hahn Joins Troutman Sanders’ Virginia Beach Office
Virginia Beach, Va. – June 27, 2013 - Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce that commercial real estate lawyer Carol W. Hahn has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Virginia Beach, Virginia office.
Prior to joining Troutman Sanders, Hahn was Counsel at McGuireWoods LLP, where her practice focused primarily on the representation of public-private partnerships in large, complex commercial real estate finance transactions, including syndicated loans, construction loans and rehabilitation/reposturing loans.
“Carol's broad range of experience in the debt finance industry will bolster our national commercial real estate practice,” said Ashley Story, head of Troutman Sanders’ Real Estate Department. “Her work representing lenders, developers and municipalities will complement and enhance our real estate practice.”
Hahn's experience includes representation of clients in structuring, development, financing and ultimate disposition (both voluntary and involuntary) of commercial, residential, publicly owned and bank-owned real estate.
“Troutman Sanders’ real estate practice has a well-established reputation in the local and larger regional market," Hahn said. "I believe my broad real estate and commercial transactional experience is a good fit, because of the scope and complexity of the matters the firm handles. I am pleased to be joining this very dynamic practice.”
Earlier in her career, Hahn served as Deputy General Counsel at AMRESCO Inc., Deputy City Attorney in the city of Virginia Beach and General Counsel at L.M. Sandler & Sons Inc.
“Carol brings an extraordinary amount of experience to our office with her considerable real estate and commercial transactions practice,” said R.J. Nutter, Troutman Sanders’ Virginia Beach Office Managing Partner. “Her significant public-private partnership background, from both the municipal and the private developer perspective, will further enhance our existing transactional practice and provide our project development clients with experience, which is particularly useful in the current business environment.”
Hahn earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School and a B.A. from Old Dominion University. She is a member of both the American Bar Association and the Virginia Beach Bar Association.
