EPA's Hazardous Waste Rule Is Just What the Doctor Ordered
Atlanta partners Greg Blount and John Johnson, and associate Karlie Clemons Webb had their article – “ EPA's Hazardous Waste Rule Is Just What the Doctor Ordered” – published in Law360 on September 4.
“For the better part of a decade, the regulated community, policymakers and regulators have grappled with how best to manage hazardous waste pharmaceuticals,” the group wrote in their article opening. “On Aug. 31, 2015, the curtain rose on a new era with the prepublication of a new proposed standard for stemming the flood of pharmaceuticals entering the water supply and streamlining waste management practices to protect the nation’s drug supply. … In its prepublication proposed rule, the EPA has tried to strike a balance that is long overdue [between the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and the unique circumstances of health care facilities].”
