GC of Delta Makes Pro Bono a Priority
Troutman Sanders and partner Byron Kirkpatrick were included in a December 27 The Daily Report article highlighting Delta Air Lines’ pro bono program and the efforts of Delta’s new General Counsel, Peter Carter, to promote pro bono service. The article focused on Delta’s collaboration with Troutman Sanders where professionals at Delta and the firm team together to take on pro bono cases through the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN), a nonprofit that helps victims of human trafficking obtain visas and other relief. Byron, who has served on GAIN’s board and manages the firms collaboration with Delta on these cases, commented that professionals at Delta and at the firm are "chomping at the bit to take the next case,” also stating, "When the general counsel for one of Atlanta's largest companies is not only encouraging pro bono but also actively representing pro bono clients, it sends a powerful message.” Partner Tom Reilly now serves on the GAIN board and is actively engaged in pro bono immigration cases.
