Troutman Sanders Partner Elected to the American College of Construction Lawyers
ATLANTA – December 2, 2013 – Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce that Frank Riggs, a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office, has been named a Fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers (ACCL).
The American College of Construction Lawyers (ACCL) is the leading professional association for construction law lawyers and is comprised of the top one percent of the U. S. construction bar. The ACCL includes lawyers, professors and judges from Australia, Britain, Canada, France and the United States. According to the ACCL, fellowship is extended by invitation only to lawyers who have “demonstrated skill, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice, or in the teaching, of construction law, and who are dedicated to excellence in the specialized practice of construction law.”
Riggs’ construction law practice spans more than thirty-five years. His practice focuses exclusively on counseling construction industry clients on contract procurement matters and on best practices to avoid construction project disputes, as well as on the representation of construction project stakeholders in complex construction disputes, both nationally and internationally. He has extensive experience in large energy, industrial and commercial construction projects, and also serves as a frequent arbitrator and mediator of complex construction project disputes.
Riggs is a frequent national writer and lecturer on construction law issues, and has been consistently recognized for his construction law excellence by Chambers USA, The International Who’s Who of Construction Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Georgia’s Super Lawyers, and Top 100 Georgia Lawyers.. He is an active participant and holds various leadership positions in a number of construction industry associations. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia.
Riggs will officially be inducted into the ACCL at its 25 th Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona, in February 2014.
