Troutman Sanders Pro Bono Teams Recognized for Corporate Volunteer Council IMPACT Award
ATLANTA – Sept. 26, 2016 – Troutman Sanders pro bono teams are honored to be recognized at this year’s Corporate Volunteer Council’s IMPACT Awards. The awards event honors and recognizes outstanding businesses that demonstrate leadership in addressing the needs of metro-Atlanta communities through thoughtful community engagement.
The firm was recognized with the Skills-Based Volunteerism IMPACT Award for its collaboration with Atlanta Legal Aid to provide a legal clinic for veterans. The clinic, held at the Atlanta Veterans Administration Hospital, focuses on civil legal needs of veterans who are patients in the Palliative Care Unit of the hospital.
“Our firm is honored to be among those receiving such a prestigious award,” said Mark Newman, Chair of the Atlanta office Pro Bono Committee. “The pro bono team worked incredibly hard to provide our veterans with the assistance they needed and deserve for serving our country.”
Additionally, the firm was one of several businesses recognized in the Business to Business Category as part of the Immigration Working Group, a collaborative effort including law firms, nonprofits, law schools and many others to bring greater access to justice to the local immigration community.
