Unknown Company Trying To Avoid CFPB's Grasp, Cites Recent D.C. Decision
A Jan. 23 Forbes article cited a Jan. 11 Consumer Financial Services Monitor blog post written by Troutman Sanders partners Ashley Taylor, Keith Barnett and associates Brooke Conkle and Ethan Ostroff recapping a letter sent by two Republican Senators to Vice President-elect Mike Pence urging the removal of CFPB director Richard Cordray. This letter was sent on the same day that 21 House Democrats wrote to President-elect Donald Trump in defense of Cordray. The Forbes article was centered on a lawsuit filed by an unnamed company against the CFPB, arguing that the agency is unconstitutionally structured.
