Mark Shiembob's practice is focused generally on commercial real estate and more specifically on representing lenders and loan servicers in multifamily finance transactions. He has extensive experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and securitized transactions, having handled a variety of multifamily and commercial loan transactions nationwide that are intended to be securitized or otherwise sold in the secondary market. These transactions often involve a combination of construction and permanent financing, tax credits, tax-free municipal bonds, and subordinate financing for affordable housing projects. Mark is the most experienced attorney in the nation leading Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan and servicing transactions.

Representative Matters

  • Lead attorney for many large pool transactions where Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac purchases a portfolio of mortgage loans for securitization. Some transactions have been in excess of $1 billion.
  • Represented the mortgage lender in numerous Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac tax-exempt bond and low income housing tax credit transactions.
  • Closed hundreds of single project loans on behalf of our various mortgage lending clients.
