Troutman Sanders Names New Office Managing Partner in Chicago
Chicago, IL -- Jan. 6, 2015 – Troutman Sanders LLP announced today that Eileen King Bower has been named the new managing partner for its Chicago office. Bower succeeds Becky Ross, who helped to first establish the firm’s presence in Chicago in 2009, when Troutman Sanders merged with Ross Dixon & Bell. Ross is a Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department.
Bower, who joined the firm in 2009 with the merger, is a partner in the Insurance practice and represents insurers in high-exposure and complex insurance coverage disputes arising under various liability policies. She also works with clients to develop and implement resolution strategies in difficult, multi-party actions.
“Becky’s leadership was instrumental as we established our presence in Chicago and focused on growing our practice to meet the needs of a diverse local and national client base, including continuing to expand a recognized nationwide insurance practice,” said Stephen E. Lewis, Troutman Sanders Managing Partner. “We are excited to have Eileen continue this focused expansion of our Chicago office. Her experience and understanding of the vibrant Chicago market, including the significant industries that are represented here, will be of great value.”
“I am looking forward to taking on this new challenge as we continue to increase our presence in Chicago,” said Bower. “We see a number of opportunities for growth in several key practice and industry areas where the firm already has a strong nationwide presence, as well as in areas that have needs specific to this market.”
The Chicago office has a litigation-oriented practice that is national in scope. Chicago office lawyers have appeared regularly throughout the United States in complex civil matters. In addition to commercial and insurance coverage litigation, the Chicago office features a growing intellectual property practice, including a focus on the life sciences industry.
