Akamai Claims More Limelight Infringement after $45M Win
Richmond partner Dabney Carr was mentioned in a May 2 Law360 article about Akamai Technologies, which won a $45.5 million patent verdict against Limelight Networks Inc. in 2008, recently raising the stakes in the company’s decade-long legal battle.
Akamai is claiming its rival infringed even more of its web content delivery patents. The allegations were laid out in counterclaims that Akamai filed in response to an infringement lawsuit lodged by Limelight in Virginia federal court last fall, the paper noted. Akamai calls the suit a baseless attempt to draw attention away from the $45.5 million verdict, which was recently reinstated.
Dabney is representing Akamai in the proceedings.
