Georgia PATENTS Names Troutman Sanders Firm of the Year, Partner Ryan Schneider Attorney of the Year
ATLANTA – Ryan Schneider, a partner in Troutman Sanders’ Intellectual Property practice, has been named Attorney of the Year by the Georgia PATENTS program, which assists solo inventors, nonprofits and small businesses with finding patent agents and attorneys to help file patents on a pro bono basis.
“Georgia PATENTS is thrilled that Ryan Schneider is our Attorney of the Year. I can think of no one more deserving,” said Meredith Ragains, executive director of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts (GLA), a nonprofit that oversees the Georgia PATENTS program. “Ryan has been supportive of our pro bono program for under-resourced inventors since its inception in 2015. He has taken numerous cases, helped establish our semi-monthly Legal Clinics, and encourages his colleagues to take our client's cases.”
Troutman Sanders also was named Georgia PATENTS Firm of the Year because of Schneider’s efforts and the contributions from the greater team, including Brennan Carmody, Chris Davis, Bob Edwards, Alexis Simpson, Eric Thanski, Charles Thimmesch and Dustin Weeks.
“Troutman attorneys have been outstanding supporters of our efforts, but this year the firm went above and beyond by representing more clients and billing more hours than any other firm. I am grateful to the firm's long-term support, which ultimately benefits our state's inventors,” Ragains said. “It is not hyperbole to say that Georgia PATENTS would not have the success it has had without the support of Ryan Schneider and Troutman Sanders.”
GLA provides legal assistance and educational programming to artists and arts organizations through its network of over 1,000 volunteer and member attorneys. Each year, Troutman Sanders’ attorneys dedicate thousands of pro bono hours in support of nonprofits, military veterans, children, the wrongfully accused, and so many more.
