“The Sunrise Period is a priority window of 30-days during which parties that have registered their trademarks with ICANN’s Trademark Clearinghouse are eligible to be first in line for purchase and registration of .SUCKS domain names,” the trio stated in an earlier summary of the piece. “The Sunrise Period for the new .SUCKS top-level-domain opened March 30, 2015. Following the Sunrise Period, any party may purchase and register a .SUCKS domain name on a first-come, first-served basis, which could have potentially disastrous effects on companies’ brands. To take advantage of the .SUCKS Sunrise Period, interested parties should review their trademark portfolios and consider registering their trademarks with the Clearinghouse.”
