Pepper Hamilton Lawyers Named To 2019 Massachusetts Super Lawyers And Rising Stars Lists
Pepper Hamilton announced that two lawyers have been named by Massachusetts Super Lawyers magazine as top attorneys in the state for 2019.
Miranda Hooker has been named to the Massachusetts Super Lawyers list and Callan G. Stein has been named to the Massachusetts Rising Stars list. Both are both partners in the firm’s Health Sciences Department and White Collar Litigation and Investigations Practice Group, resident in the Boston office. Ms. Hooker earned her law degree, summa cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 2004, and an A.B. in government from Smith College. Mr. Stein earned his law degree from Boston University School of Law in 2007 and a B.A., cum laude, from Brandeis University in 2004.
Each year, no more than 5 percent of the lawyers in Massachusetts are named to Super Lawyers and no more than 2.5 percent are named to Rising Stars.
A statewide survey of lawyers who have been in practice for at least 5 years leads to the nomination of the best attorneys they have personally observed in action. Candidates are also added from searches by an attorney-led research staff for those who have attained certain honors or achievements. A research department examines the background and experience of each candidate. Point totals are calculated from the balloting and qualitative evaluation steps. Candidates are grouped according to primary area of practice. Members of a blue ribbon panel, selected from those with high point totals, review a list of candidates from their practice area. Final candidates are those with the highest point totals from each category. The selection process for Rising Stars is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process except that: 1) to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for ten years or less and 2) candidates for Rising Stars do not go through peer evaluation by practice area.
