Pepper Hamilton Pro Bono Team Advises on Merger of Nonprofits Aiding Women and Children
A Pepper Hamilton pro bono team has successfully helped facilitate the merger of two nonprofits focused on pregnant women and families and young children. On July 1, the Child, Home and Community (CHC) organization announced it has merged with the Maternity Care Coalition (MCC). The merger brings together two like-minded organizations with similar missions to assist mothers and children. MCC’s goal is “to improve maternal and child health and well-being through the collaborative efforts of individuals, families, providers, and communities in Southeastern Pennsylvania,” while CHC’s goal is “to ensure healthy births, enhance family stability and promote self-sufficiency,” with a focus on “at-risk teen and young adult parents.”
CHC’s seven-person staff will be joining MCC’s 150-person team. The Pepper team that worked on this merger included partner Bruce K. Fenton, of counsel Kathleen A. Stephenson and associate Brandon E. Raphael.
