Pepper Hamilton Represents SMT in Acquisition of Leading Sports Graphic Company Sportvision
SMT (SportsMEDIA Technology), a pioneer in real-time on-screen graphics, tickers, clock-and-score, virtual insertions and social media integration for live televised sport and entertainment events, recently announced its acquisition of Sportvision. Chicago-based Sportvision's virtual-graphics/insertion portfolio includes football's Virtual Yellow 1st & Ten line, baseball's PITCH/fx MLB pitch/strike-zone–tracking system, and the NASCAR tracking and pointer system, as well as virtual-signage insertion.
A Pepper Hamilton team of Matthew H. Adler, Bruce K. Fenton and Donald R. Readlinger provided legal services to Durham, North Carolina-based SMT on all aspects of the financing and the transaction, in which SMT will acquire a 100 percent interest in Sportvision. The newly expanded entity will be branded as SMT. The deal closed on October 4. Terms were not disclosed.
