Troutman Pepper-Ballard Spahr Lateral Portal Continues

In the most recent iteration of the firms drawing from each other's talent pool, Ballard partner Dameon Rivers, former co-leader of the firm's housing finance group, joined Troutman Pepper's Washington, DC office in the multifamily housing finance practice, the firms confirmed last week.
Bringing a national real estate finance practice, Rivers said he represents banks and other lending institutions with loan transactions for senior housing, affordable housing, and charter school facilities. That includes representing commercial banks, community development financial institutions, and other mortgage banking institutions involved in construction and permanent loan transactions.
Although his and Troutman's multifamily finance team have "historically focused on different areas of housing finance," according to an email statement from Rivers, he said they share many clients and "there are a lot of synergies between my practice and the Troutman Pepper platform."
"My hope is that the commitment that Troutman Pepper has made to the multifamily finance group will facilitate the continued growth of my practice area," Rivers said. "The practice area is becoming more focused on affordable housing. Since that is my area of focus, I believe that Troutman is well-positioned to retain and grow its reputation in our industry."
