Troutman Pepper Strategies Director to Reprise Role as Board Chair for Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth
RICHMOND, Va. – Troutman Pepper Strategies Director
Karin Addison has been appointed by Virginia Governor Ralph Northam to serve a second consecutive term on the Board of Trustees for the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth (VFHY). Addison, who was
previously appointed in 2017, will serve as Chair of the Board until June 30, 2022. The Senate Committee on Rules also selected Addison to serve as the VFHY’s representative on the Cannabis Public Health Advisory Council.
Comprised of 23 members, the Board of Trustees governs the VFHY, which empowers Virginia’s youth to make healthy choices by promoting active, nutritious, and tobacco-free living, and addresses obesity in youth through grants
for classroom-based prevention programs.
“I look forward to continuing to advance the Foundation’s mission to educate and inspire Virginia’s youth to make healthy choices,” Addison said. “I am also looking forward to my new role on the
Cannabis Public Health Advisory Council.”
Addison will serve as a member of the Cannabis Public Health Advisory Council until June 30, 2025. The Council aims to “assess and monitor public health issues, trends, and impacts related to marijuana legislation and make
recommendations regarding health warnings, retail marijuana and retail marijuana products safety and product composition, and public health awareness, programming, and related resource needs.”
