Troutman Pepper's Justice Harold Melton Receives the St. Thomas More Award for His Commitment to Justice
ATLANTA – Justice Harold Melton, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Business Litigation Practice Group, has received the St. Thomas More Award for manifesting a commitment to justice and humanity. The award is given without regard to the recipients’ political or religious affiliations.
The St. Thomas More Society is a nonprofit society, whose objective is to provide a means of fostering the spiritual, intellectual, and professional growth of its members. The society presents the award annually to one or more judges, lawyers, or member of the public. Justice Melton will be honored at the 2022 St. Thomas More Society Atlanta Red Mass Luncheon on October 13, 2022.
In addition to his civic work, Justice Melton is a prominent litigator who provides counsel on regulatory matters in appellate, state attorneys general, and commercial litigation matters. He served for 16 years as a justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia and almost three years as Chief Justice before joining Troutman Pepper in 2021. Prior to joining Georgia’s judicial branch, he also served as executive counsel to Governor Sonny Perdue and as an assistant attorney general in the Georgia Department of Law.
