Troutman Sanders Adds Two Corporate Partners in New York
NEW YORK – Nov. 9, 2016 - Troutman Sanders LLP announced today that Gerald "Jerry" Francese and Patrick Costello have joined the firm’s New York office as partners in the Corporate practice. Both lawyers joined the firm from DLA Piper.
“We are excited to have Jerry and Patrick on board, as they each enhance the scope of our corporate and regulatory capabilities in New York,” said David Dantzler, managing partner of the firm’s New York office. “Their addition is another important step in the continued expansion of our transactional practices in this market.”
Francese’s practice focuses on financial services, private equity, corporate finance, bank and investment advisor regulation and FinTech. He has both law firm and corporate experience. He began his career as an associate in a law firm before moving in-house to Bank of America. While there he assisted the bank with numerous acquisitions and spin-offs and advised on its multi-billion dollar proprietary investments and private equity portfolios. He also advised on general M&A, joint ventures, capital markets transactions, corporate governance and risk management.
Costello has extensive experience representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, as well as publicly traded and privately held companies in various transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, minority investments, joint ventures, restructurings and general corporate governance matters. He has represented clients in a variety of industries, including, financial services, real estate, insurance, apparel, life sciences, software, Internet, technology, music, energy and communications.

Francese graduated, summa cum laude, from Roger Williams University with a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and History. He received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Costello graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Studies. He received his J.D. with honors from George Washington University Law School.
