Troutman Sanders' Attorneys Inducted Into Virginia Law Foundation's 2013 Class of Fellows
RICHMOND, Va. - Troutman Sanders LLP is pleased to announce that two of the law firm’s partners, David N. Anthony and Jacob A. Lutz III, were inducted into the Virginia Law Foundation’s 2013 Class of Fellows.
The induction ceremony took place on January 24 th at the Virginia Law Foundation’s dinner meeting held in Williamsburg, Virginia, during The Virginia Bar Association’s Annual Meeting.
Induction as a Fellow is an honor conferred on selected Virginia attorneys, law professors and retired members of the judiciary by the VLF Board. These individuals are inducted based on the Board deeming them as outstanding in their profession and in their community. Membership is limited to one percent of the active and associate memberships of the Virginia State Bar, and, currently, numbers 412.
Anthony and Lutz join fellow Troutman Sanders attorneys Thomas F. Betz (retired), John W. Daniel III, F. Claiborne Johnston Jr. (retired), Neil S. Kessler, Stephen A. Northup, C. Cotesworth Pinckney (retired), James C. Roberts (retired), Stephen D. Rosenthal, Robert D. Seabolt and George A. Somerville as members of this exclusive group.
About David N. Anthony:
David N. Anthony is co-practice group leader of Troutman Sanders’ Financial Services Litigation practice, and is also a member of the firm’s Business Litigation and Class Action Litigation practices. Additionally,
he serves as one of the leaders of the firm’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) team, whose focus is to consistently examine how this new stand-alone, independent agency will regulate and enforce consumer financial
products and services in compliance with federal law. At Troutman Sanders, his personal practice focuses on litigating financial services and business disputes, including class actions. He received a J.D. from Washington and Lee
University in 1990 and a B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1987.
About Jacob (Jake) A. Lutz III: Jacob A. Lutz III is the practice group leader of Troutman Sanders’ Financial Institutions practice, which represents national banks, state banks, thrifts, credit unions, securities firms, insurance companies, and related financial services providers domestically and internationally. He also is a member of the firm’s Mergers, Acquisitions & Business Ventures and Securities & Corporate Governance practice groups, and CFPB team. Prior to joining Troutman Sanders, Lutz held various positions in the Legal Division of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. Currently, Lutz serves as the Chair of the Finance and Banking Practice Group of TerraLex, an international network of more than 150 law firms in over 100 countries. He received a J.D. in 1981 from the College of William and Mary, and a B.S., with distinction, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1978.
