Troutman Sanders' Scott Kelly Named an 'Up & Coming' Lawyer in Virginia by Virginia Lawyers Weekly
RICHMOND — Scott Kelly, an attorney based in Troutman Sanders’ Richmond office, has been named to Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s 2019 class of “Up & Coming Lawyers.” The “Up & Coming Lawyers” program recognizes those who are making an impact on the legal community in their first 10 years of practice. Kelly is one of 16 attorneys to be recognized.
Kelly has been with Troutman Sanders since 2012, joining the firm after a clerkship with the Honorable John A. Gibney, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. His practice focuses on complex litigation and business disputes, financial services litigation and consumer litigation. He has developed an expertise representing clients in national class actions and complex business disputes – most notably in Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act (WVCCPA), and Securities Exchange Act litigation. Kelly has served as counsel on successful appeals before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Ninth and D.C. Circuits.
Kelly will be recognized at an awards reception on Oct. 22 at the John Marshall Hotel in Richmond. For the complete list of “Up & Coming Lawyers,” click here.
