Most of us have worked almost exclusively remotely for more than a year. By this time, many lawyers have fallen into a routine in our new work environments. It is easy, after such a long time, to develop certain habits that could create an ethical minefield. This presentation focuses on lawyers' responsibilities under the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct, regardless of the location we now call our "office." And who better to guide us through an exploration of these issues than our friends on "The Office"?
Discussion topics will include lawyers' duties to safeguard confidential information, maintain technological proficiency and diligence in a constantly changing situation, avoid the unauthorized practice of law in the context of remote work, and supervise both lawyers and non-lawyer employees even in a remote environment.
The training is approved for MCLE credit in California, Illinois, New Jersey (through reciprocity), New York, and Pennsylvania. Credit for other jurisdictions may be available upon request. Please email clemanagement@troutman.com to register.
