Bosch Wants Fuel-Injector Patent Row Nixed on Jurisdiction
Richmond partners Robert Angle and Dabney Carr were mentioned in a February 20 Law360 article about auto parts maker Robert Bosch LLC asking a Virginia federal judge to cancel or transfer infringement claims against it, Mercedes-Benz USA LLC and Daimler AG over a fuel injection system patent because the company has no meaningful business in Virginia and didn’t develop the product at issue in the state. The plaintiff in the suit, Orbital and its U.S. unit, Orbital Fluid Technologies Inc., is alleging that “Orbital developed and sold to Mercedes a centrally mounted, spray-guided direct fuel injection system in the early 1980s that the automaker eventually abandoned in favor of the allegedly infringing Bosch equivalent.”
Robert and Dabney are representing Mercedes and Daimler in these proceedings.
