Capital One Gets Favorable Ruling in Security Patent Dispute
Troutman Sanders lawyers Robert Angle, Mary Zinsner, Mohsin Reza, Dabney Carr, Paul McGowan and Megan Rahman were mentioned in June American Lawyer and Law360 articles about a special master finding in the first of the month that two mobile banking patents held by Intellectual Ventures LLC are illegitimate because they failed the test set by the U.S. Supreme Court’s Alice Decision. Thus, the special master sided with Capital One Financial Corp. in this ongoing infringement and antitrust case (Intellectual Ventures I LLC et al. v. Capital One Financial Corp., et al.), and recommended that a Maryland district court find two U.S. patents illegitimate on their merits.
