National Law Journal Names Troutman Pepper’s Daniel Archuleta Among 2020 DC Rising Stars
WASHINGTON – Daniel Archuleta, a partner in Troutman Pepper’s Energy Practice Group, has been recognized among The National Law Journal’s 2020 D.C. Rising Stars. The list highlights the region’s 40 most promising lawyers age 40 and under, including innovators who “develop unique practice niches, secure wins for clients, cultivate robust books of business and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.” Read The National Law Journal feature about Archuleta.
“I am honored to be recognized by The National Law Journal as a 2020 D.C. Rising Star and congratulate all my fellow honorees,” Archuleta said. “I strongly believe we must always strive for excellence beyond the immediate legal analysis with any issue and remain committed to doing so for my clients and colleagues.”
Archuleta represents clients in the energy industry on regulation, competition, and transactional issues. He assists natural gas pipeline and storage companies, natural gas distribution companies, electric utilities, generation owners, and transmission companies in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), state commissions, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals.
In addition to his busy legal practice, Archuleta volunteers his time with several industry and community-based organizations. He is an active member of the Energy Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association of Washington, D.C., the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and the International Board of Directors for the New Mexico State Alumni Association, among others. Notably, he also serves as editor of the Washington Energy Report, a weekly publication written by Troutman Pepper’s FERC Practice that monitors and reports on significant developments in FERC and energy-related matters around the country.
Troutman Pepper has one of the premier state and federal energy regulatory practices in the United States. The firm has represented utilities before state public service commissions in every type of proceeding and advises clients on business strategies to positively affect their operations and transactions. Troutman Pepper is also a preeminent member of the highly specialized FERC bar. Its FERC Practice is one of the largest and most successful in the U.S., both in terms of the size of its practice and breadth of its expertise representing electric, natural gas, and hydropower clients for some of the industry’s most pressing issues.
Owned by American Lawyer Media (ALM), The National Law Journal provides the legal community with news and analysis on legislative and regulatory developments and feature stories on law firms, law schools and legal authorities. Each year, the publication recognizes high-achieving legal professionals with a slate of awards, including the D.C. Rising Star award. Archuleta and fellow honorees will be recognized in an award ceremony on November 5, 2020.
