Troutman Pepper Attorneys Published in ABA Book for Chapter on Electric Vehicles
WASHINGTON – Troutman Pepper’s Marc Machlin, Chris Young and Erica Dressler are published in a recently released book, Distributed Generation Law: A Guide to Regulations, Policies, and Programs. The trio coauthored a chapter in the American Bar Association-published book about the regulatory environment governing electric vehicles.
The book provides an overview of the emerging legal and policy issues involving the planning, engineering, operations, economics, and governance of distributed generation (DG). Regarded as one of the most transformational developments in restructuring the electric power grid, DG encompasses many different technologies that generate, store, and distribute energy in locations close to the end user.
“We were delighted to contribute a chapter on this ever-evolving area of law,” Machlin said. “With the dramatic growth of the electric vehicle market, we hope a wide audience can benefit from our analysis of the related regulatory landscape.”
Dressler added, “collaborating with my colleagues was a wonderful experience, and the process provided a great opportunity to dive deeper into issues on which we have provided guidance to our clients over the years.”
More than one dozen attorneys across multiple disciplines collaborated on the book, which is available for preorder on the ABA website. The book was edited by attorneys Florence Davis and Sarah Fitts and sponsored by the ABA’s Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources.
“The book is a culmination of three years of cross-law firm collaboration,” Young said. “We are grateful for the support of our editors and the ABA in our endeavor to write about the regulations, policies and programs related to distributed generation today.”
Troutman Pepper has a nationally recognized Energy Practice Group which caters to the various stakeholders in DG. The team is highly regarded for its ability to develop innovative solutions to clients’ most pressing business challenges, and has handled matters whose outcomes have, or will, alter how energy is valued, distributed, stored and sold.
