Troutman Sanders Recognized as ‘Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality’ in 2020 Corporate Equality Index
ATLANTA – For the 12th consecutive year, Troutman Sanders LLP has received a top rating of 100 percent in the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation that measures LGBTQ workplace equality. Troutman Sanders joins the ranks of more than 680 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.
“We endeavor to be a diverse and inclusive law firm and are proud to again be recognized as a ‘Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality,’” said Steve Lewis, managing partner of Troutman Sanders. “Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to Troutman Sanders’ culture. We have adopted a formal plan with specific initiatives for recruitment, retention and firm environment and are committed to upholding these core values.”
The 2020 CEI evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, demonstrated organizational competency and accountability around LGBTQ diversity and inclusion, public commitment to LGBTQ equality, and responsible citizenship.
“These companies know that protecting their LGBTQ employees and customers from discrimination is not just the right thing to do — it is also the best business decision,” said HRC President Alphonso David. “...[B]usinesses understand their LGBTQ employees and customers deserve to be seen, valued and respected not only at work, but in every aspect of daily life.”
